This mysteriousness is understandable Microsoft is attempting to use one 'term' to describe two concepts that are utilized in a non-enterprise (personal) and enterprise environment (private/public sector). In doing so, I always run across folks who do not understand OneDrive, it's function in the Microsoft stack, or it's use in SharePoint.
A role of my job is to architect and develop solutions for SharePoint Online and SharePoint 2013 On-Premises. I know this post is relatively elementary, but I've been wanting to clear up, as best as I can, the confusion with OneDrive.
